The Surveying & Spatial Sciences Institute's (SSSI) Young Professionals (YP) in South Australia (SA).
The Surveying & Spatial Sciences Institute's Young Professionals in South Australia (SSSI YP SA) is a group designed specifically for the promotion of young people within the surveying and spatial sciences industry, and to address issues facing new spatial professionals in South Australia. It has a proven track record for leadership development for those involved, and aims at creating a fun environment in which students and professionals from across the commissions may come together and network.
The SSSI YPs hopes to realise its vision through the delivery of services to Young Spatial Professionals in four main service areas:
•Networking;
•Career;
•Education and Information; and,
•Recognition and Representation.
A range of activities and programmes to address these service areas have been developed by the SSSI YPs. These may be uniformly applied across the regions such as mentoring programmes, or developed within a region to address local needs, such as supporting spatial professionals in remote areas.
There are a wide range of benefits for you as a SSSI YP that will aid your career:

The Surveying & Spatial Sciences Institute drive unity, innovation and growth within the Spatial Information Industry through development of the Young Spatial Professional community.
The Spatial Sciences Institute members and the Institution of Surveyors members voted to merge the two institutes to create the new Surveying and Spatial Sciences Institute.
The Surveying & Spatial Sciences Institute (SSSI) is the international body combining the professional spatial disciplines into four complementary Commissions: the
Land and Hydrographic Surveying Commission;the Spatial Information and Cartography Commission; the Engineering & Mining Surveying Commission; and the Remote Sensing and Photogrammetry Commission.
The Institute's members are involved in communities of practice such as land administration, natural resource management, emergency management, forestry, agriculture, defence, marine environment, local government, health, education, tourism, transport and many more.
